Tropical Weather Discussion for the eastern Pacific Ocean from 
the Equator to 32N, east of 140W. The following information is 
based on satellite imagery, weather observations, radar, and 
meteorological analysis.

Based on 1200 UTC surface analysis and satellite imagery through 
1500 UTC.

...INTERTROPICAL CONVERGENCE ZONE/MONSOON TROUGH... 

A surface trough extends from 09N86W TO 06N90W where overnight 
scatterometer winds indicated that the northern ITCZ forms and 
continues through 04N117W TO 05N130W TO 03N140W. A southern ITCZ 
is analyzed from 02S107W TO BEYOND 03S122W. Scattered moderate 
to strong convection is noted from 03N TO 08.5N BETWEEN 77W AND 
91W, and within 150 nm N and 90 nm S of ITCZ between 99W AND 
137W. Scattered moderate to strong convection is also noted 
along the southern ITCZ from 02S to 04S between 106W and 109W.

OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF MEXICO...

Strong to near gale force northwesterly winds are observed 
across the discussion waters N of 29N and west of the Baja 
Peninsula to 122W, where 10 to 11 ft seas prevail. Fresh NWly 
winds cover the rest of the waters offshore of the peninsula and 
extend to near 20N, where seas of 8-10 ft are found. Fresh to 
locally strong nw flow is expected W of Baja today as well as 
strong afternoon seabreeze off Cabo San Lucas. The pressure 
gradient will relax this evening, but quickly tighten again 
tonight. Expect strong nw winds to spread S to along 28N to the 
E of 125W on Thu with seas building to 9 to 15 ft with the 
highest seas near 32N120W Thu night. The gradient should begin 
to relax late Fri night with winds diminishing to 20 kt or less 
by late Sat, and associated seas subsiding to less than 8 ft to 
the S of 30N Sun night into Mon.

Gulf of California: Gentle to moderate west to southwesterly 
flow will veer around to the NW today then become southerly 
Thu through Fri.

Gulf of Tehuantepec: Gentle to moderate south to southwest flow 
expected this week.

OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF CENTRAL AMERICA, COLOMBIA, AND 
WITHIN 750 NM OF ECUADOR...

Mostly a gentle onshore breeze is expected during the day 
becoming offshore along the coasts at night. Combined seas of 4 
to 5 ft in mixed SW and NW swell are forecast during the next 
several days.
 
REMAINDER OF THE AREA...
  
A ridge from near 32N139W to near 13N107W this morning will 
meander during the next few days. Strong NW winds, and seas of 8 
to 12 ft are expected N of 28N and E of 124W today through Fri. 
Fresh NE trades are expected S of the ridge to the ITCZ and will 
maintain seas of 6-8 ft W of 125W this week. Southern 
hemispheric swell in the form of 7 to 9 ft seas, will reach the 
equator between 106W and 120W on Fri.
