The following information is based on satellite imagery, weather observations, radar, and meteorological analysis. Based on 1200 UTC surface analysis and satellite imagery through 1500 UTC. ...INTERTROPICAL CONVERGENCE ZONE/MONSOON TROUGH... A surface trough extends from 09N84W to 06N101W, where ASCAT winds indicate that the ITCZ forms and continues and continues west to beyond 04N140W. Scattered moderate convection is noted in clusters between 04N and 06N east of 114W. ...DISCUSSION... OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF MEXICO... Strong northwesterly winds are observed across the discussion waters north of 29N west of the Baja Peninsula, with 8 to 13 ft seas. Fresh to strong NW flow is expected elsewhere north of 25N today. The pressure gradient will relax some tonight through Wed then tighten again on Wednesday night. Expect strong NW winds to spread southward to along 28N east of 125W on Thursday with seas building to 10-15 ft by early Friday. The gradient should relax Friday night with seas subsiding to less than 8 ft on Sunday. OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF CENTRAL AMERICA, COLOMBIA, AND WITHIN 750 NM OF ECUADOR... A gentle onshore breeze is expected during the day, becoming offshore along the coast at night. Combined seas of 3-5 ft in mixed SW and NW swell is forecast for the next several days. REMAINDER OF THE AREA... A ridge will meander from near 32N140W to 11N102W. Strong NW winds, and 8-12 ft seas are expected north of 28N east of 123W through early Wednesday, with similar conditions expected north of 28N and east of 126W Thursday through Friday night. Fresh NE trades are expected south of the ridge and north of the ITCZ, with seas building to 8 ft west of 130W later in the week.
