OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF MEXICO... A cold front will shift east across Baja California norte and the northern Gulf of California tonight through Sunday. High pressure in the wake of the front will maintain fresh to locally strong NW winds off the coast of Baja California tonight and Sunday. Then, the high pressure will further build early next week bringing an increase in coverage of strong northwest winds off the coast of Baja California Norte early next week. Seas in the 6-8 ft range will prevail over this area through Monday. A fresh set of northwesterly swell will propagate into the waters off Baja California Norte early next week. This swell will peak near 14 ft early Tuesday morning. Gentle to moderate northerly winds and seas of 2-3 ft are expected across northern Gulf of California with the frontal passage. Winds are forecast to increase to 15-20 kt with seas building to 6 ft Tuesday and Wednesday as the above mentioned area of high pressure builds and tightens the pressure gradient over the area. Elsewhere, winds will generally be light to gentle with seas in the 4-6 ft range through the middle of next week. OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF CENTRAL AMERICA, COLOMBIA, AND WITHIN 750 NM OF ECUADOR... Fresh to locally strong NE winds are expected over the Gulf of Papagayo during the overnight and early morning hours through Monday morning. Elsewhere, light to gentle winds and combined seas of 3-5 ft are expected the next several days except in the Gulf of Panama, where winds will pulse to a fresh breeze tonight. REMAINDER OF THE AREA... A cold front extending across the NE waters will reach Baja California norte tonight. Moderate to fresh NW winds are noted, based on scatterometer data, ahead of the front affecting the offshore forecast zones PMZ009 and PMZ011. High pressure behind the cold front is located near 30N133W, and extends a ridge SE to near the Revillagigedo Islands. On the southern periphery of the ridge, fresh to strong trades prevail, covering mainly the waters from 07N to 19N W of 130W. Seas have built to 10-11 ft within the area of the trade winds based on the most recent altimeter data. This area of trades will persist through Monday, but the aerial extent of the trades will increase by Monday night as a high pressure located just north the area strengthens. At that time, the GFS computer model shows a high pressure of 1033 mb located near 35N132W. $$ GR
