Tropical Weather Discussion for the eastern Pacific Ocean from
the Equator to 32N, east of 140W. The following information is
based on satellite imagery, weather observations, radar, and
meteorological analysis.

Based on 1200 UTC surface analysis and satellite imagery through
1500 UTC.

...INTERTROPICAL CONVERGENCE ZONE... 

ITCZ from 03N108W to 01N114W to 03N121W to 00N132W. Scattered 
moderate convection is noted within 60 nm of the ITCZ between 
112W and 127W.


...DISCUSSION...   

OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF MEXICO...

High pressure west of the area will maintain fresh to locally
strong winds off the coast of Baja California through the
weekend. High pressure will further build early next week
bringing an increase in coverage of strong northwest winds off
the coast of Baja California Norte early next week. Seas in the
6-8 ft range will prevail over this area through the weekend. A
fresh set of northwesterly swell will propagate into the waters
off Baja California Norte early next week. This swell will peak
near 13 ft early Tuesday morning. Light and variable winds with
seas 2 ft or less will prevail across the Gulf of California
through this weekend. Winds will freshen early next week as the
aforementioned area of high pressure builds and tightens the
pressure gradient over the area. Elsewhere Winds will generally 
be light to gentle with seas in the 4-6 ft range through the 
middle of next week. 

OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF CENTRAL AMERICA, COLOMBIA, AND 
WITHIN 750 NM OF ECUADOR...

Gentle to moderate daytime winds will pulse to fresh over the
Gulf of Papagayo the next couple of nights. Winds will then
decrease early next week. Elsewhere, light to gentle winds and 
combined seas of 3-5 ft are expected the next several days except
in the Gulf of Panama, where they will pulse to a fresh breeze 
through the weekend.

REMAINDER OF THE AREA...

A cold front propagating across the northern waters has ushered
in a fresh set of northwesterly swell over the northwest waters.
Seas are reaching 11-12 ft based on the most recent altimeter
data. Further south in the tradewind belt, fresh to strong winds
prevail with seas in the 7-10 ft range. Winds will generally
remain in the fresh to locally strong category over this area the
next several days with seas in the 7-9 ft range.
