Tropical Weather Discussion for the eastern Pacific Ocean from
the Equator to 32N, east of 140W. The following information is
based on satellite imagery, weather observations, radar, and
meteorological analysis.

Based on 0000 UTC surface analysis and satellite imagery through
0200 UTC.

...INTERTROPICAL CONVERGENCE ZONE...
ITCZ from 05N95W to 02N110W to 03N118W to 00N135W. Scattered
moderate convection within 120 nm north of the ITCZ between 125W
and 130W. 

...DISCUSSION...   

OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF MEXICO...

High pressure west of the area will dissipate as a weak cold 
front moves eastward into Baja California Norte and the northern
Gulf of California through Sunday. Northwest to north winds will
increase off Baja California Norte starting tonight between 
lingering lower pressure along a trough over the Gulf of 
California and high pressure centered farther west. The area of 
strong northwest to north winds will increase in coverage to 
within 250 nm off the coast and reach as far south as Cabo San 
Lazaro Sunday through Monday night. Northwest swell to 8 ft off 
Baja California Sur will decay below 8 ft through tonight. Seas 
will build again off Baja California Sunday through Monday as the
winds increase. The leading edge of 8 ft seas will reach the 
Revillagigedo Islands by mid week as northwest swell to 12 ft 
reaches Guadalupe Island. Meanwhile expect fresh to strong 
northwest winds over the central and southern Gulf of California 
tonight into early Saturday, but with gentle to moderate breezes 
and slight seas will follow through early next week.

OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF CENTRAL AMERICA, COLOMBIA, AND 
WITHIN 750 NM OF ECUADOR...

High pressure prevailing across the northwest Caribbean and Gulf
of Mexico will support fresh to strong gap winds across the Gulf
of Papagayo through early Sunday with seas to 8 ft. Nocturnal 
winds will pulse to a fresh breeze thereafter. Elsewhere, light 
to gentle winds and combined seas of 3-5 ft are expected the next
several days except in the Gulf of Panama, where they will pulse
to a fresh breeze through the weekend.

REMAINDER OF THE AREA...

Long period northwest swell of 8 to 10 ft will follow a cold
front moving eastward across the waters north of 25N through late
Saturday. The swell will decay below 8 ft through Sunday west of
120W. Farther south, a mix of trade wind waves and primarily
northwest swell will maintain 8 to 10 seas from 06N to 22N west 
of 125W through Sunday.
