ANOTHER DEEP LAYER TROUGH EXTENDS FROM TEXAS ACROSS CENTRAL MEXICO AND OVER THE PACIFIC OCEAN NORTH OF THE ITCZ FROM 98W TO 115W. THIS AREA IS MOIST IN THE DEEP LAYER AND BECAUSE OF THE COOLER TEMPERATURES ALOFT SOME CONVECTION IS WITHIN THE TROUGH REGION. MOST OF THE ACTIVITY IS ALONG THE COAST OF MEXICO AND IS INFLUENCED BY LAND SEA INTERACTIONS AND ALSO INTERACTION WITH THE MOUNTAINS JUST INLAND FROM THE COAST OF MEXICO. BETWEEN THE TWO TROUGH MENTIONED ABOVE A NARROW SHARP RIDGE IS OBSERVED. THE AREA EAST OF 98W IS BROAD ANTICYCLONIC FLOW WITH WEAK DIFFLUENCE ALOFT AND SCATTERED AREAS OF CONVECTION. WIDESPREAD MULTI LEVEL CLOUDS ARE OBSERVED IN THIS AREA. MOST OF THE CONVECTION IS NEAR THE ITCZ. AN AREA REMOVED FROM THE ITCZ IS SCATTERED MODERATE TO STRONG CONVECTION WITHIN 90 NM OF THE POINT 13.5N93W. MODERATE SURFACE RIDGE IS NORTH OF 18N WEST OF 115W. WEAK SURFACE LOW WITH 1010 MB CENTRAL PRESSURE IS NEAR 14.5N119W AND IS MOVING WNW 10 KT. SCATTERED MODERATE TO STRONG CONVECTION IS WITHIN 60 NM OF THE CENTER.
