Based on 0000 UTC surface analysis and satellite imagery through 0520 UTC. ...MONSOON TROUGH/ITCZ... The monsoon trough passes through the coastal plains of Liberia near 06N11W, to 03N17W and 01N22W. The ITCZ continues from 01N22W, crossing the Equator along 28W, 03S39W. Precipitation: widely scattered moderate to isolated strong is from 05N southward from 47W eastward. Isolated moderate to locally strong is elsewhere from 10N southward from 60W eastward. GULF OF MEXICO... A stationary front is in the waters that are off the coast of Georgia and Florida, passing through 31N80W, to 29N in northern Florida, and then to the Florida Panhandle. A surface trough is in the U.S.A. coastal plains, from the Florida Panhandle to SE Louisiana. A surface trough continues from SE Louisiana to 24N93W in the Gulf waters. A squall line extends from the central Gulf to the west central Florida coast. Precipitation: scattered moderate to isolated strong is inland in Florida from Lake Okeechobee northward. Isolated moderate to locally strong is from 23N to 29N from 90W eastward, including in the Straits of Florida. Mostly moderate to some fresh SE winds are in the Straits of Florida. Moderate and fresh W to SW winds are in the rest of the eastern half of the area. Moderate or slower winds are in the western half of the area. Moderate seas are in the coastal waters of the Florida Panhandle. Slight seas are in the remainder of the Gulf of Mexico. Moderate to occasionally fresh SE winds over the central and eastern Gulf will gradually diminish tonight through Thu. Fresh to strong SE winds will develop Thu night in the central Gulf ahead of the next cold front forecast to move off the Texas coast Fri. The front will reach from the Florida panhandle to near Tampico, Mexico Sat, and from central Florida to the Bay of Campeche Sun. CARIBBEAN SEA... Fresh to strong NE winds are within 135 nm of the coast of Colombia between 74W and 77W. Fresh to some moderate easterly wind flow is in the rest of the central one-third of the area. Mostly fresh to some moderate NE to E winds are in the eastern one-third of the area. Mostly fresh to some strong SE winds are from 15N northward from 82W westward. Moderate or slower winds are in the remainder of the Caribbean Sea. Moderate seas, from 6 feet to 7 feet, are within 180 nm on either side of 17N71W 10N79W. Moderate seas at lower heights are elsewhere from Jamaica eastward. Slight seas are in the remainder of the Caribbean Sea. Patches of low level moisture, embedded in the trade wind flow, are moving through the area...expect isolated to scattered passing rainshowers. These patches of low level moisture are comparatively more concentrated from 70W eastward. High pressure north of the area will support pulses of fresh to strong NE to E winds over the south-central Caribbean through Sun night and in the Gulf of Honduras through Sat night. Moderate to fresh trade winds over the SE Caribbean will reach fresh to strong speeds at night Wed and Thu. Gentle to moderate winds will prevail elsewhere. ATLANTIC OCEAN... A stationary front is in the waters that are off the coast of Georgia and Florida, passing through 31N80W, to 29N in northern Florida, and then to the Florida Panhandle. Precipitation: broken to overcast multilayered clouds, and isolated moderate to locally strong, are to the west of the line 31N74W 22N78W in Cuba. A surface trough is along 25N42W 18N43W 12N45W. Precipitation: isolated moderate is within 360 nm to the east of the surface trough. A 1030 mb high pressure center is near 36N54W. Broad surface anticyclonic wind flow is elsewhere from the stationary front eastward. Rough seas are from 20N northward between 42W and 70W, and from the Canary Islands northward from 16W eastward. Moderate seas are in the rest of the Atlantic Ocean. Strong northerly winds are from 30N northward from 13W eastward. Strong NE winds are from 20N to 26N from 20W eastward. Fresh to strong NE to E winds are from 21N63W 24N40W northward between 40W and 63W. Moderate NE winds are elsewhere from 14N to 29N from 25W eastward. Fresh NE winds are from 02N to 11N between 35W and 57W. Fresh E to SE winds are from 63W westward. Moderate or slower winds are in the remainder of the Atlantic Ocean. Moderate to fresh NE to E winds and rough seas across the offshore waters N of 20N and east of 70W will gradually decrease tonight and Wed. Winds and seas will increase off NE Florida tonight ahead of the next cold front forecast to move off the coast of Florida Wed evening.
