The following information is based on satellite imagery, weather observations, radar and meteorological analysis. Based on 0600 UTC surface analysis and satellite imagery through 0850 UTC. ...MONSOON TROUGH/ITCZ... The monsoon trough passes through the coastal plains of Guinea-Bissau near 12N16W to 03S22W. The ITCZ continues from 03N22W to 01S42W. Scattered moderate isolated strong convection is noted south of 08N and east of 18W. Scattered moderate convection is noted south of 05N between 32W and 50W. GULF OF MEXICO... High pressure is centered over the Gulf waters near 24N91W. Light to gentle winds are in the vicinity of the high center. Gentle to moderate anticyclonic wind flow prevails elsewhere. Seas are in the 6-8 ft range in lingering NW swell over the SE Gulf, 5-6 ft over the NE Gulf, and 2-4 ft over the western Gulf. For the forecast, high pressure will build across the area and become centered over the eastern Gulf through Wed. Fresh winds will pulse across the Bay of Campeche each night through the forecast period. CARIBBEAN SEA... A cold front is over the NW Caribbean, with moderate winds west of the front. Moderate to fresh winds are found over the waters wast of 75W. Light to gentle winds prevail elsewhere. Seas are in the 5-6 ft range west of the front, 4-6 ft over the area of moderate to fresh winds, and 2-4 ft elsewhere. For the forecast, the cold front will dissipate by Tue. Fresh to strong winds will develop offshore of Colombia tonight and continue through the week. ATLANTIC OCEAN... A cold front extends from 31N72W to W Central Cuba. The gale force winds east of the front have diminished, with strong to near- gale force winds N of 28N within 120 nm east of the front. Fresh to strong winds are found elsewhere N of 25N within 180 nm east of the front. Fresh to locally strong winds are west of the front. Seas of 8-12 ft are found N of 27N and W of 65W. A dissipating frontal boundary extends from 31N26W to 22N43W. Moderate winds are N of 28N and west of the front to 50W, with seas in the 8-9 ft range. Moderate winds are found elsewhere W of 60W as well as S of 15N and W of 35W. Light to gentle winds cover the remainder of the forecast waters N of 15N and W of 30W. Moderate to fresh winds are found E of 30W. Outside of the area of seas greater than 8 ft, seas of 5-7 ft are found N of 20N, and 4-6 ft S of 20N. For the forecast W of 55W, fresh to strong winds will prevail in the vicinity of the front to the N of 28N today. The front will gradually weaken and dissipate on Tue.
