Based on 0000 UTC surface analysis and satellite imagery through 0510 UTC. ...TROPICAL WAVES... An Atlantic Ocean tropical wave is along 29W/30W from 15N southward, moving westward 20 knots. Precipitation: the wave is moving through the area of nearby ITCZ precipitation. An Atlantic Ocean tropical wave is along 44W/45W from 16N southward, moving westward 15 to 20 knots. Precipitation: the wave is moving through the area of nearby ITCZ precipitation A Caribbean Sea tropical wave is along 62W/63W, from 19N southward, moving westward 20 to 25 knots. Precipitation: isolated moderate to locally strong is from 21N southward between 60W and 70W. A Caribbean Sea tropical wave is along 77W/78W, from Jamaica southward, moving westward 15 to 20 knots. The monsoon trough is along 09N74W 07N80W, beyond 08N85W in the eastern Pacific Ocean. Precipitation: scattered to numerous strong is in the coastal waters of Panama that are from the monsoon trough northward, between the tropical wave and 80W; and from 10N southward between the coast of Colombia and 80W. A tropical wave is moving through the SW corner of the Gulf of Mexico, along 96W/97W, from 20N southward, moving westward 15 to 20 knots. This tropical wave is moving through an area of upper level anticyclonic wind flow, and SE wind flow from 700 mb to 500 mb. Precipitation: isolated moderate to locally strong is in the coastal waters of Mexico from 22N to the Mexico coastal border with Texas. ...MONSOON TROUGH/ITCZ... The monsoon trough passes through the coastal border sections of The Gambia and Senegal near 13N17W,to 11N22W, 08N26W, 09N29W, and 09N35W. The ITCZ continues from 09N35W, to 08N42W, 05N46W, and 06N53W. Precipitation: widely scattered to scattered moderate and isolated strong is from 02N to 10N between 22W and 35W; and within 90 nm to the south of the line that runs from 09N60W 08N53W 07N46W. Isolated moderate is elsewhere from 11N southward from 60W eastward. GULF OF MEXICO... A tropical wave is moving through the SW corner of the Gulf of Mexico, along 96W/97W, from 20N southward, moving westward 15 to 20 knots. This tropical wave is moving through an area of upper level anticyclonic wind flow, and SE wind flow from 700 mb to 500 mb. Precipitation: isolated moderate to locally strong is in the coastal waters of Mexico from 22N to the Mexico coastal border with Texas. A surface ridge extends from a 1021 mb high pressure center that is near 29N85W, in the NE corner of the Gulf of Mexico, to the coastal border of Texas and Mexico. A surface ridge will prevail in the Gulf waters through the weekend. Moderate to fresh E to SE winds are expected across most of the basin through Tuesday. CARIBBEAN SEA... An upper level trough extends from a cyclonic circulation center that is about 120 nm to the SSW of Jamaica, through the Windward Passage, and more northeastward to 32N57W in the Atlantic Ocean. Precipitation: isolated moderate to locally strong is in the Caribbean Sea from 16N northward from the Mona Passage westward. A Caribbean Sea tropical wave is along 62W/63W, from 19N southward, moving westward 20 to 25 knots. Precipitation: isolated moderate to locally strong is from 21N southward between 60W and 70W. A Caribbean Sea tropical wave is along 77W/78W, from Jamaica southward, moving westward 15 to 20 knots. The monsoon trough is along 09N74W 07N80W, beyond 08N85W in the eastern Pacific Ocean. Precipitation: scattered to numerous strong is in the coastal waters of Panama that are from the monsoon trough northward, between the tropical wave and 80W; and from 10N southward between the coast of Colombia and 80W. Fresh to strong trade winds will prevail in the south central Caribbean Sea through the weekend. The Wind speeds will pulse to near gale-force near Colombia overnight, with the sea heights building to 12 feet. ATLANTIC OCEAN... An upper level trough extends from a cyclonic circulation center that is about 120 nm to the SSW of Jamaica, through the Windward Passage, and more northeastward to 32N57W in the Atlantic Ocean. Precipitation: isolated moderate to locally strong is within 420 nm to the east, and within 300 nm to the west, of the line that runs from the northern coast of the Dominican Republic near 20N70W to Bermuda. High pressure in the central Atlantic Ocean will dominate the region during the next several days.
