NE gale-force winds will be slowing down in speed, to less than gale-force, during the daytime hours. Expect the NE gale-force winds to return tonight, from 11N to 13N between 74W and 76W, near the coast of Colombia. The sea heights will range from 10 feet to 15 feet. The wind speeds will return to gale-force from tonight until Tuesday morning. The monsoon trough passes through the coastal border areas of Liberia near 06N11W to 04N14W. The ITCZ continues from 04N14W, to the coast of Brazil near 02S42W. Scattered moderate convection extend around 180 to 200 nm on either side of the boundary. GULF OF MEXICO... Visible satellite and latest observations indicate the areas of dense fog extending across much of the Gulf of Mexico from NE Mexico to Texas and into the Florida Panhandle. The fog extends 30 nm southeast into the Gulf waters. The conditions are forecast to improve by the mid morning hours today. High pres will prevail over the forecast waters through Thu. Fresh to near gale force SE winds are expected over most of the western gulf Tue night and Wed as the pressure gradient tightens ahead of a cold front that will come off Louisiana and Texas coasts on Thu morning. The front will reach from Cross City, Florida to the Bay of Campeche by late Fri night. Gale force winds will be possible over the waters near Tampico and Veracruz Fri evening. CARIBBEAN SEA... Fresh to strong trades cover much of the basin with isolated showers possible across the Greater Antilles. High pressure N of the area will support fresh to strong trades over much of the central Caribbean through Fri night, with gale force winds expected at night near the coast of Colombia. Fresh to strong winds will pulse in the evenings across the Windward Passage and in the Gulf of Honduras Wed and Thu evening. Moderate to fresh trades will continue across the remainder of the area. ATLANTIC OCEAN... A cold front north of the area is near 31N78W. Scattered showers are noted 200 nm southeast of the front. In the Central Atlantic, a low pressure is centered near 26N48W with a stationary front extending southward to 22N48W to 20N52W. North of the low a surface trough extends to 30N48W. Scattered moderate isolated strong convection is present east of the low from 29N to 29N between 42W to 46W. High pressure will prevail across the area today. A cold front entering the NW waters on Mon will move across the waters N of 25N through Wed morning. High pressure will rebuild over the region Wed and prevail through Fri.
