The following information is based on satellite imagery, weather observations, radar and meteorological analysis. Based on 1800 UTC surface analysis and satellite imagery through 2300 UTC. ...MONSOON TROUGH/ITCZ... The monsoon trough passes through the coastal sections of the borders of Sierra Leone and Liberia near 07N11W, to 05N15W. The ITCZ continues from 05N15W, crossing the Equator along 35W, to Brazil near 02S49W. Precipitation: isolated moderate to locally strong rainshowers are from 07N southward from 52W eastward. ...DISCUSSION... GULF OF MEXICO... A surface trough is in the SW corner of the Gulf of Mexico, from 25N97W near the NE coast of Mexico, to 17N93W in the Isthmus of Tehuantepec of southern Mexico. Rainshowers, in general, are possible within 180 nm to 240 nm on either side of the line from 23N83W near NW Cuba, to 27N97W a along the coast of southern Texas. Surface anticyclonic wind flow covers the Gulf of Mexico from 91W eastward. A 1023 mb high pressure center is along the border of SW Georgia and SE Alabama. A cold front will move off the Texas coast late Sat night, and race southeast across the entire gulf waters on Sun and Sun night passing through the Straits of Florida on Mon afternoon. Strong northerly winds in the wake of the front will diminish from the northwest through Mon night. A ridge will extend from northeast Texas to the Straits of Florida on Tue, and shift northeast on Wed. CARIBBEAN SEA... Broad surface cyclonic wind flow is present in the Caribbean Sea. An inverted trough in the surface pressure analysis runs from SE Cuba to the coastal sections of Colombia near 10N75W. Isolated moderate rainshowers are present across Jamaica, and in NW sections of the Dominican Republic. Fresh to strong trades will continue across the waters east of 80W, except increasing to near gale force during the overnight hours off the northwest coast of Colombia. A cold front will pass east through the Yucatan Basin on Mon morning, reach from east Cuba to the Gulf of Honduras on Mon night, stall from Hispaniola to Nicaragua on Tue, and dissipate on Wed. ATLANTIC OCEAN... A western/central Atlantic Ocean cold front passes through 32N58W to 25N66W to SE Cuba. Two cold fronts are moving eastward across the western Atlantic. Precipitation: widely scattered moderate to isolated strong rainshowers cover the area that is within 600 nm to the NW of the line that passes through 32N52W, to the SW corner of the Dominican Republic near 18N72W. An eastern Atlantic Ocean cold front passes through 32N12W to 30N15W. The cold front is dissipating from 30N15W to 26N20W and 22N27W. A 1023 mb high pressure center is near 23N50W, between the two cold fronts. A cold front from 27N65W to east Cuba will reach from 23N65W to Windward Passage on Sat, then stall across the tropical waters north of the Greater Antilles on Sat night. Remnants of the front will lift north on Sun ahead of another cold front moving off the northeast Florida coast on Sun night. This cold front will extend from near 31N73W to the northwest Cuba late Mon, slow along a position from Bermuda to east Cuba on Tue, and stall from 25N65W to east Cuba on Wed.
