The eyewall of Dorian continues to move away from Grand Bahama Island. However, dangerous winds and life-threatening storm surge will continue over that island through this evening. The hurricane is moving nearly parallel to, but offshore of, the east coast of Florida. A sustained wind of 42 mph (69 km/h) and a wind gust of 60 mph (96 km/h) were recently reported at a weather station in Melbourne Beach, Florida.
