Darby is moving toward the west-northwest near 9 mph (15 km/h), and a generally westward motion at a similar forward speed is expected over the next 48 hours. Maximum sustained winds have decreased to near 105 mph (165 km/h) with higher gusts. Continued weakening is forecast during the next 48 hours, and Darby will likely become a tropical storm by Monday. Hurricane-force winds extend outward up to 30 miles (45 km) from the center and tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 115 miles (185 km).
