DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 800 PM PDT (0300 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Hilda was located near latitude 19.6 North, longitude 128.7 West. Hilda is moving toward the west-northwest near 8 mph (13 km/h), and this general motion with a slight increase in forward speed is expected over the next couple of days. Maximum sustained winds remain near 40 mph (65 km/h) with higher gusts. Weakening is expected during the next couple of days, and Hilda is forecast to become a tropical depression by Thursday morning and degenerate into a remnant low early Friday. Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 45 miles (75 km) from the center. The estimated minimum central pressure is 1005 mb (29.68 inches). HAZARDS AFFECTING LAND ---------------------- None.
