DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 800 AM PDT (1500 UTC), the center of Tropical Depression Carlos was located near latitude 10.0 North, longitude 132.6 West. The depression is moving toward the west near 10 mph (17 km/h). A continued westward motion along with a slight decrease in forward speed is expected over the next couple of days. Maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph (55 km/h) with higher gusts. Slow weakening is expected over the next couple of days, and Carlos is forecast to degenerate to a remnant low by Wednesday.
