Frank is moving toward the west near 13 mph (20 km/h). A turn toward the west-northwest is expected later today or tonight, followed by a turn toward the northwest Friday night or Saturday. Maximum sustained winds are near 50 mph (85 km/h) with higher gusts. Gradual strengthening is expected today, with a faster rate of strengthening forecast by tonight and Friday. Frank is forecast to become a hurricane on Friday. Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 70 miles (110 km) from the center. The estimated minimum central pressure is 1000 mb (29.53 inches).
