DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 1100 PM HST (0900 UTC), the center of Hurricane Linda was located near latitude 18.1 North, longitude 130.7 West. Linda is moving toward the west near 13 mph (20 km/h) A turn towards the west-northwest is expected Wednesday morning, and this general motion should continue through the weekend. Maximum sustained winds are near 105 mph (165 km/h) with higher gusts. Little change in strength is expected overnight, but a slow weakening trend is forecast to begin by tomorrow night. Hurricane-force winds extend outward up to 30 miles (45 km) from the center and tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 90 miles (150 km).
