DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 1100 AM HST (2100 UTC), the center of Hurricane Linda was located near latitude 17.6 North, longitude 128.3 West. Linda is moving toward the west near 10 mph (17 km/h). A turn toward the west-northwest is expected tonight, with that motion forecast to continue through the remainder of the week. Maximum sustained winds are near 90 mph (150 km/h) with higher gusts. Little change in strength is expected today, but a slow weakening trend is predicted to begin on Wednesday. Hurricane-force winds extend outward up to 30 miles (45 km) from the center and tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 90 miles (150 km).
