DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK

At 900 PM MDT (0300 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Linda was 
located near latitude 13.6 North, longitude 106.5 West. Linda is 
moving toward the west near 7 mph (11 km/h). A turn towards the 
west-northwest is expected on Thursday, with that motion continuing 
through the weekend.
 
Maximum sustained winds are near 70 mph (110 km/h) with higher
gusts. Additional strengthening is still forecast, and Linda is 
expected to become a hurricane tomorrow. 
 
Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 105 miles (165 km)
from the center.
 
The estimated minimum central pressure is 995 mb (29.39 inches).
 
 
HAZARDS AFFECTING LAND

SURF:  Swells generated by Linda are expected to affect portions of
the coast of southwestern Mexico over the next few days.  These
swells are likely to cause life-threatening surf and rip current
conditions. Please consult products from your local weather office.
