DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK

At 400 AM CDT (0900 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Linda was 
located near latitude 14.2 North, longitude 104.4 West.  Linda is 
moving toward the west near 9 mph (15 km/h), and this general motion 
is expected to continue through tonight.  Linda is forecast to move 
west-northwestward on Thursday and Friday.
 
Maximum sustained winds are near 50 mph (85 km/h) with higher gusts. 
Strengthening is expected during the next few days, and Linda is 
forecast to become a hurricane on Thursday.
 
Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 105 miles (165 km)
from the center.
 
The estimated minimum central pressure is 1001 mb (29.56 inches).
 
 
HAZARDS AFFECTING LAND

SURF:  Swells generated by Linda are expected to affect portions of
the coast of southwestern Mexico over the next few days.  These
swells are likely to cause life-threatening surf and rip current
conditions. Please consult products from your local weather office.
