DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 400 AM CDT (0900 UTC), the center of Tropical Depression Twelve-E was located near latitude 13.0 North, longitude 100.8 West. The depression is moving toward the west-northwest near 8 mph (13 km/h), and this motion is expected to continue through tonight. A slight westward turn is forecast on Wednesday. Satellite-derived wind data indicate that maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph (55 km/h) with higher gusts. Strengthening is expected during the next several days, and the depression is forecast to become a tropical storm later today and a hurricane on Thursday.
