DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 900 AM MDT (1500 UTC), the center of newly formed Tropical Depression Seven-E was located near latitude 16.8 North, longitude 109.2 West. The depression is moving toward the west-northwest near 17 mph (28 km/h), and this general motion is expected to continue today. A motion toward the west is forecast to begin by late tonight, with that motion continuing through Tuesday. On the forecast track, the depression will move farther away from mainland Mexico and the Baja California peninsula over the next several days. Maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph (55 km/h) with higher gusts. Gradual strengthening is forecast during the next few days, and the depression is expected to become a tropical storm later today.
