DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 900 AM MDT (1500 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Blanca was located near latitude 15.5 North, longitude 112.2 West. Blanca is moving toward the west-northwest near 5 mph (7 km/h), and this slow motion is expected to continue with a gradual westward turn expected by this evening. A general westward motion is forecast through the end of the week. Maximum sustained winds remain near 45 mph (75 km/h) with higher gusts. Gradual weakening is forecast, and Blanca is expected to weaken to a tropical depression by Thursday. Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 45 miles (75 km) from the center.
