DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 300 AM MDT (0900 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Blanca was located near latitude 15.0 North, longitude 112.0 West. Blanca is moving toward the west-northwest near 6 mph (9 km/h). A slower west-northwestward motion is expected through tonight, followed by a slow westward motion through late this week and into the weekend. Maximum sustained winds have decreased to near 45 mph (75 km/h) with higher gusts. Additional weakening is expected during the next couple of days, and Blanca is forecast to become a tropical depression by Thursday. Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 45 miles (75 km) from the center. The estimated minimum central pressure is 1002 mb (29.59 inches). HAZARDS AFFECTING LAND ---------------------- None.
