DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 300 AM MDT (0900 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Blanca was located near latitude 14.2 North, longitude 109.6 West. Blanca is moving toward the northwest near 7 mph (11 km/h). A slower west-northwestward motion is expected during the next couple of days, followed by a slow westward motion. Maximum sustained winds remain near 60 mph (95 km/h) with higher gusts. Strengthening is possible today, followed by gradual weakening beginning tonight and continuing through late this week. Blanca is a small tropical cyclone. Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 45 miles (75 km) from the center. The estimated minimum central pressure is 998 mb (29.47 inches).
