DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 300 AM MDT (0900 UTC), the center of Tropical Depression Two-E was located near latitude 12.2 North, longitude 106.6 West. The depression is moving toward the west-northwest near 14 mph (22 km/h). A continued west-northwestward motion with a gradual reduction in forward speed is expected through midweek. On the forecast track, the tropical cyclone should remain well offshore of the southwestern coast of Mexico. Satellite-derived wind data indicate that maximum sustained winds remain near 35 mph (55 km/h) with higher gusts. Strengthening is forecast during the next day or so, and the system is expected to become a tropical storm this morning. The estimated minimum central pressure is 1007 mb (29.74 inches).
