DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 1000 AM CDT (1500 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Sergio was located near latitude 12.1 North, longitude 105.4 West. Sergio is moving toward the west near 13 mph (20 km/h) and this general motion is expected for the next couple of days with a turn toward the west-northwest expected on Tuesday. Maximum sustained winds are near 60 mph (95 km/h) with higher gusts. Additional strengthening is forecast during the next 48 hours, and Sergio is expected to become a hurricane by tonight and a major hurricane on Tuesday. Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 125 miles (205 km) from the center. The estimated minimum central pressure is 999 mb (29.50 inches).
