DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 500 AM HST (1500 UTC), the center of Post-Tropical Cyclone Akoni was located near latitude 11.2 North, longitude 149.7 West. The post-tropical cyclone is moving toward the west near 16 mph (26 km/h), and this motion is expected to continue the next couple of days, with some increase in forward speed over the weekend. Maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph (55 km/h) with higher gusts. Little change in strength is forecast during the next couple of days. The estimated minimum central pressure is 1007 mb (29.74 inches). HAZARDS AFFECTING LAND ---------------------- None.
