DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 1100 AM HST (2100 UTC), the center of Tropical Depression Twelve-E was located near latitude 12.2 North, longitude 144.6 West. The depression is moving toward the west near 7 mph (11 km/h) and this general motion is expected to continue for the next couple of days. An increase in forward speed and a turn toward the west-northwest is expected over the weekend. Maximum sustained winds are near 30 mph (45 km/h) with higher gusts. Some strengthening is forecast during the next 48 hours, and the depression may become a tropical storm on Friday. The estimated minimum central pressure is 1007 mb (29.74 inches).
