DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 1100 PM AST (0300 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Joyce was located near latitude 31.6 North, longitude 43.6 West. Joyce is moving toward the east near 6 mph (9 km/h). A turn toward the northeast with an increase in forward speed is expected on Saturday. Maximum sustained winds have increased to near 50 mph (85 km/h) with higher gusts. Some slight strengthening is possible tonight and tomorrow, but gradual weakening is forecast to begin by Sunday. Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 35 miles (55 km) from the center. The estimated minimum central pressure is 997 mb (29.44 inches).
