DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 500 PM AST (2100 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Gabrielle was located near latitude 23.4 North, longitude 35.9 West. Gabrielle is moving toward the northwest near 10 mph (17 km/h). A faster motion toward the northwest is expected for the next several days. Maximum sustained winds have decreased to near 45 mph (75 km/h) with higher gusts. Little change in strength will likely occur during the next day or two. Slow strengthening is forecast to occur over the weekend. Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 205 miles (335 km) from the center.
