DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 1100 PM AST (0300 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Gabrielle was located near latitude 21.5 North, longitude 34.4 West. Gabrielle is moving toward the northwest near 7 mph (11 km/h), and this motion is expected to continue for the next few days with an increase in forward speed expected late this week. Maximum sustained winds are near 50 mph (85 km/h) with higher gusts. Little change in strength is forecast during the next couple of days. Some slow strengthening is then expected to begin by this weekend. Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 160 miles (260 km) from the center.
