Gaston is moving toward the east-northeast near 10 mph (17 km/h), and this general motion with an increase in forward speed is expected during the next couple of days. Maximum sustained winds remain near 110 mph (175 km/h) with higher gusts. Some weakening is forecast during the next 48 hours.
