Offshore Waters Forecast for the Tropical N Atlantic from 07N to
22N between 55W and 64W, the SW N Atlantic S of 31N W of 65W
including Bahamas, and the Caribbean Sea.

Seas given as significant wave height, which is the average
height of the highest 1/3 of the waves. Individual waves may be
more than twice the significant wave height.

.SYNOPSIS...A broad area of low pressure, AL97, continues to 
produce a large area of disorganized showers and thunderstorms 
across the western Caribbean and into Central America. Further 
development of this system appears unlikely before it moves 
inland over Central America later tonight or on Saturday. 
Regardless of development, this system is expected to bring heavy
rains over portions of Central America through the weekend. This
rainfall could produce flash flooding, along with mudslides in 
areas of higher terrain. A stationary front extending from the 
western tip of Cuba southwestward to Cozumel will weaken through 
early Sat. Fresh to strong northeast winds and rough seas 
associated with the front and its remnants will prevail in the 
northwestern Caribbean through early Sat. Fresh to strong winds 
in the north-central and portions of the SW Caribbean associated 
with AL97 will continue to affect these areas through Sat 
morning.

.SYNOPSIS...A stationary front extends from near 31N63W to the 
central Bahamas and to the western tip of Cuba. The front will 
drift back to the northwest as a warm front tonight, then weaken
to a trough Sat over the northern Bahamas offshore waters 
through the weekend. Fresh to strong northeast winds and rough 
seas behind the front will diminish Sat. Relatively weak high 
pressure will settle in over the region well into next week.
