Offshore Waters Forecast for the Tropical N Atlantic from 07N to
22N between 55W and 64W, the SW N Atlantic S of 31N W of 65W
including Bahamas, and the Caribbean Sea.

Seas given as significant wave height, which is the average
height of the highest 1/3 of the waves. Individual waves may be
more than twice the significant wave height.

.SYNOPSIS...Tropical Storm Nana near 17.1N 84.6W 998 mb at
1500 UTC moving W at 15 kt. Maximum sustained winds are 50 kt
with gusts to 60 kt. Nana is expected to continue westward and
pass just north of the Bay Islands late this afternoon and
evening and then move inland across Belize near 16.8N 88.9W
early Thu morning at hurricane strength. Nana will then weaken 
as it continues inland through northern Guatemala, before 
eventually dissipating by early Sat over southern Mexico. 
Moderate to fresh trades will persist over the central Caribbean 
in the wake of Nana through Sun with gentle to moderate breezes 
elsewhere.

.SYNOPSIS...A ridge extending from the central Atlantic to near 
Bermuda to the northern Bahamas is lifting northward ahead of a 
westward moving trough entering the southern Bahamas. The trough
 will move west of the area tonight into Thu, supporting fresh
to locally strong winds off Hispaniola and the approaches to the
Windward Passage tonight into Thu morning. The ridge will remain
along 29N Thu and Fri, supporting moderate to fresh trades south
of 22N.
