Synopsis for the Gulf of Mexico .SYNOPSIS...Hurricane Zeta as moved inland in Louisiana this evening and is near 31.5N 88.7W 979 mb at 11 PM EDT moving NE at 27 kt. Maximum sustained winds 70 kt gusts 90 kt. Zeta will weaken to a tropical storm near 35.5N 83.5W Thu morning, then become extratropical as it moves into the northwest Atlantic offshore Delaware and New Jersey. A cold front extends from SW Louisiana to Veracruz Mexico. This front will move southwest and clear the basin Fri. Fresh to strong northwest winds behind the front will spread across the Gulf through early Fri. By Fri afternoon strong north winds will be confined to the Bay of Campeche, then diminish to fresh speeds late Fri night.
