Synopsis for the Gulf of Mexico

.SYNOPSIS...Hurricane Laura near 30.5N 93.4W 948 mb at 5 AM EDT
moving N at 13 kt. Maximum sustained winds 105 kt gusts 130 kt.
Laura will move inland to 32.6N 93.2W this afternoon, then move
farther inland and weaken to a tropical storm near 34.8N 92.2W
Fri morning and dissipate through Sat. Long-period swell from
Laura will impact much of the basin through today. Atlantic high
pressure will build westward over the eastern Gulf in the wake
of Laura.
