Synopsis for the Gulf of Mexico .SYNOPSIS...A cold front is just N of Tampa, extending from 28N82W SW to 24N92W then transitions to a stationary front to the border between NE Mexico and Texas. Fresh to strong SW winds are ahead of it covering the SE gulf waters along with scattered heavy showers and thunderstorms. The cold front will move E of the basin this evening and winds will diminish to gentle and moderate speeds. The next cold front is forecast to approach the NW Gulf late Wed night into Thu morning. Fresh to strong winds are forecast to develop ahead of the front over the western half of the Gulf by Tue night. The front will reach from the Florida Big Bend to 27N90W by Thu night and move E of the area Fri morning. A third cold front will come off the Texas coast early Sat.
