height of the highest 1/3 of the waves. Individual waves may be
more than twice the significant wave height.

Synopsis for the Gulf of Mexico

.SYNOPSIS...A warm front just inland the northern Gulf coast
will continue to move farther away from the area today. A cold
front is expected to reach the NW Gulf Sun evening, and extend
from the Florida Big Bend to near 25N90W by Mon afternoon. Fresh
to strong southerly winds are expected ahead of the front
beginning tonight and continuing through Mon evening as the
front moves across the area. Scattered thunderstorms, some could
be strong to severe, are possible ahead of this front. Otherwise,
smoke from agricultural fires in southern Mexico and Honduras 
could reduce visibility, mainly in the SW Gulf.
