Synopsis for the Gulf of Mexico .SYNOPSIS...A slow moving and weakening cold front early this morning stretches from the FL Panhandle to Brownsville. A second stronger cold front has moved off the TX coast, and this front will merge with the first and race SE and through and out of the Gulf by late this evening. In its wake, high pressure will dive S and settle into the area through the end of the week. Behind the strong cold front, gales are developing off the TX coast and will envelop most of the W Gulf today. Storm conditions will develop offshore Veracruz this afternoon and evening. Gale conditions will prevail in the broader SW Gulf through tonight, before N winds diminish to strong Thu. Another cold front is likely move into the NE Gulf Fri night or early Sat.
