Synopsis for the Gulf of Mexico .SYNOPSIS...Weak high pressure centered over the NE Gulf will shift northeast of the area by early this evening with a ridge extending southwestward to the the central Gulf. The combination between the ridge and deepening low pressure over the Plains will allow for moderate to fresh southerly winds over the western Gulf to increase to fresh to strong speeds during through this afternoon before diminishing back to moderate to fresh speeds this evening as a cold front associated to the low pressure moves across Texas. This cold front will move to just offshore the Texas coast early Wed, reach from the western Florida panhandle to near 28N91W and stationary to near Brownsville Wed afternoon. The cold front portion will sweep southeastward across the eastern Gulf through Thu night and become stationary over the Straits of Florida Fri and dissipate by late Sat night.
