Synopsis for the Gulf of Mexico .SYNOPSIS...High pressure ridging extending from western Atlantic to across the eastern and central Gulf will change little through the week. The gradient between weak low pressure over southern Alabama and the ridge will allow for fresh southwest winds over the NE Gulf to continue through early this morning before diminishing to moderate speeds. Fresh to strong northeast to east winds will pulse over the waters adjacent to the western Yucatan Peninsula through early this morning and again tonight. The northern portion of a tropical wave will move from the western Caribbean Sea over the Bay of Campeche on Wed, then weaken to a trough and track northwestward across the western Gulf Wed night through Thu night before reaching the Texas coast on Fri.
