Seas given as significant wave height, which is the average
height of the highest 1/3 of the waves. Individual waves may be
more than twice the significant wave height.

Synopsis for the Gulf of Mexico

.SYNOPSIS...A nearly stationary front extends from 29N83W to a 
1014 mb low near 27N92W to 22N97W. Isolated to scattered showers 
exist across the Gulf of Mexico. Moderate northeast to east winds
north of the front will prevail today, but the front and low 
will weaken, leading to lessening winds into the weekend. Surface
troughs are expected to form during the daytime over the Yucatan
Peninsula, then move west into the Bay of Campeche each night, 
leading to showers and thunderstorms as well as fresh to possibly
strong winds.
