Seas given as significant wave height, which is the average
height of the highest 1/3 of the waves. Individual waves may be
more than twice the significant wave height.

Synopsis for the Gulf of Mexico

.SYNOPSIS...A ridge along the northern coast of the Gulf of
Mexico will retreat E Tuesday night and allow a cold front to
move unusually far S for this time of year over the northern
Gulf. The front will then stall and weaken Wed and Thu. Gentle
to moderate winds will continue across most of the basin, except
for fresh to strong winds pulsing to the W of the Yucatan
peninsula tonight and Monday night.

less. 
.TONIGHT...SE winds less than 10 kt. Seas 2 ft or less. 
.MON...SE winds less than 10 kt in the morning, becoming

.MON NIGHT...Variable winds less than 10 kt. Seas 2 ft or less. 
.TUE...Variable winds less than 10 kt, becoming W less than
10 kt in the afternoon. Seas 2 ft or less.

.MON...Within 60 nm of coast of Veracruz, SE winds 10 to 15 kt,
shifting to E in the afternoon. Elsewhere, SE winds 10 to 15 kt.
Seas 3 to 4 ft in the morning, subsiding to 2 ft or less.
