Seas given as significant wave height, which is the average
height of the highest 1/3 of the waves. Individual waves may be
more than twice the significant wave height.

Synopsis for the Gulf of Mexico

.SYNOPSIS...Weak high pressure will dominate the basin into mid
week. A low pressure is expected to develop in the NE basin on
Wed. The low will intensify gradually through Thu and generate
strong to near gale force winds for the NE waters. Further
intensification is possible later on Thu along with gale force
winds and building seas.
