Seas given as significant wave height, which is the average
height of the highest 1/3 of the waves. Individual waves may be
more than twice the significant wave height.

Synopsis for the Gulf of Mexico

.SYNOPSIS...Showers and thunderstorms over the NE Gulf should
diminish today as an upper-level trough moves northeastward away
from the Gulf. A diurnal trough forming over the Yucatan
Peninsula will produce fresh to locally strong winds each night
as it moves northwestward into the SW Gulf. Otherwise, a ridge
will prevail as it slowly moves northward over the Gulf of
Mexico through Sun night.
