Individual waves may be more than twice the significant wave height. Synopsis for the Gulf of Mexico .SYNOPSIS...A stalling cold front extends from the W Florida coast near 27N, to 22N94.5W to 18N93W. The pressure gradient between the front and high pressure building southward across Texas and eastern Mexico will support strong to near gale force northwest to north winds behind the front and west of 95W through late Mon. The portion of the front east of 90W will begin to sink slowly southward, reaching the Straits of Florida late Sun into Mon, while the stationary part weakens. The cold front will then become stationary again on Tue, from the NW coast of Cuba and the lower Straits of Florida, southwestward to along or just offshore the northern coast of the Yucatan Peninsula through early Wed.
