Synopsis for the Gulf of Mexico .SYNOPSIS...A cold front just exited the Gulf of Mexico and strong high pressure is building across the area in the wake of the front through Thursday. Strong northerly winds behind the front will diminish gradually through late Wednesday night. The surface high pressure will shift to east of the region by late Friday night. Fresh to locally strong SE to S return flow will be setting up in much of the western and central waters. A new, but weaker, cold front is anticipated to reach the NW Gulf of Mexico early Sunday.
