Marine Weather HF Voice Broadcast for the Gulf of Mexico

Seas given as significant wave height, which is the average
height of the highest 1/3 of the waves. Individual waves may be
more than twice the significant wave height.

Synopsis for the Gulf of Mexico

.SYNOPSIS...A surface trough will develop along the Yucatan
Peninsula late this afternoon, and drift westward across the
southwest Gulf waters during the overnight hours accompanied by
a fresh to locally strong east to southeast wind shift with the
trough dissipating along 96W late Fri morning. The pressure
gradient is tightening in association with a tropical wave that
will move west-northwest across the Yucatan Peninsula and into
the Bay of Campeche today. The wave will gradually weaken into a
broad and elongated area of low pressure across the southwest
gulf waters on Fri and Sat, with the pressure gradient
supporting fresh to strong southeast flow across the western
Gulf of Mexico on Sun.
