Synopsis for the Gulf of Mexico .SYNOPSIS...A dissipating frontal boundary extending from Straits of Florida southwest across the Yucatan Channel to the NW Gulf of Honduras will drift eastward through Sun morning. High pressure of 1020 mb over the NW gulf extends a ridge southeastward to the Straits of Florida. The high pressure over the northwest Gulf will track to the northeast and inland on Sun. It will move east off the Georgia coast on Mon with the ridge extending west-southwest across the northern gulf waters through Thu. A mid-level disturbance over the NW gulf is producing areas of rain and scattered showers over that portion of the gulf. This feature and its associated weather will quickly reach the northeast portion of the gulf tonight, then shift east of the area early Sun.
